Lodge Treks

These adventure treks are undertaken through well-established trails of Annapurna, Everest and Langtang within the protected regions of the Annapurna Conservation Area, Everest National Park, Langtang National Park, Shivapuri National Park and Rara National Park. It is also our policy to promote these areas for its age old cultural assets and natural biodiversity and to provide economic benefits to the local communities who have inhabited here for many centuries. The cultural richness of the diverse ethnic groups, who live in these areas, is incredible and very unique. The combination of the highest and lofty, snow clad mountain views and the contrasting landscapes and sceneries are amazing and unparalleled to any other parts of the world.
Since the early nineties, the local communities have taken the initiative of developing these areas and providing tourism services as well. As a result, they have successfully established basic yet comfortable Inns and Lodges to cater to the trekker's needs and have also learnt to cook tasty and good local food for the tourists. All you have to do is to get there and order according to your taste.

Advantages and disadvantages of Tea House Treks

This trek has many advantages namely: it is low budget, there is flexibility of dates and itinerary, the trip can be organized with a minimum number of people or can also be undertaken privately if you do not wish to be in a group of people you do not know. This type of trek uses minimum number of manpower and equipments as well.
At the same time, the main disadvantages of the trek are: one has to rely on tea house/lodges along the trail for food and accommodations which can be difficult to find during the peak season, the trek provides minimum number of employment opportunities for people, and the fact that there are few people in the team may pose a problem if there is a medical emergency. Therefore, timely booking is highly recommended for this type of trek. During the trek, the tour leader or guide will send our support staff to the respective destinations, well ahead in time, to ensure that a place is reserved for you. You just have to get there!

Environmental and cultural issues in the Tea House trekking areas

As these areas are very popular, thousands of people visit these places every season and the demand to cater to the tourist's needs are greater than ever. To meet the increasing demands, facilities are being upgraded and available resources are being used up which is costing our fragile environment dearly.
The Tea House treks are having a negative impact on our culture and tradition as well. The old and traditional culture along these trails, which Nepal is renowned for, is on the verge of transforming into a completely modern culture.
Therefore, it is very important that we should try our best to minimize the negative impact or influence that the Tea House trek is bringing. Taking public or tourist coach rather than private transportation or flight will assist in curbing the negative environmental impact to a certain extent. If the majority of tourists follow this strictly, the influence will surely be very positive.

Season for trekking

Trekking can be undertaken throughout the year and the best season depends on what you are up to. For clear mountain views and a relatively stable weather, the month of October to November (during fall) is the best time. However, if you want to enjoy the breathtaking variety and scenery of flowers and still enjoy good mountain views, March to May during spring/summer is the right time. This trek can also be undertaken during winter season.
