Chitlang is an ancient Newari settlement in Makwanpur district to the south of Kathmandu valley. Inscriptions dating back to Lichchavi era have been found in this place, according to which, King Anshuvarma had established a settlement for shepherds of Chitlang believed to be the descendants of rulers of Gopal era. The village itself is unspoiled Tamang, Newar, Brahmin and Magar settlement set in the hilly country side at an altitude ranging from 1750 to 2000m of elevation.

Drive to Thankot and start trek to Chitlang

Day03: Return Kathmandu
Morning visit some more cultural sites and travel back to Kathmandu after lunch

The climate is ideal to visit at any time during the year with warm days and cool nights. The village can be reached by drive from Kathmandu and walk ( 3 hours) to village.
