Classic Community Eco-lodge treks
This trek, “Classic Community Eco-lodge treks”, is an extended version of the “Taste of Community Eco-Lodge Trek”, that takes you into much closer contact with the spectacular Himalayas, visiting more o local communities, hence spreading the support to more villages. This trek offers a close-up experience of the local culture and the fantastic and inspiring mountains views. The first four days, you visit the same villages as the other shorter trek (Taste of Community Eco-Lodge Trek), but on day five, the trail heads towards the north to the stunning Khopra ridge and makes a descend down to the deepest gorge formed by the holy Kali Gandaki via the the slate-roofed settlements of Narchyang village. Before driving back to Pokhara, you could visit the hot spring at Tatopani too.

Classic Community Eco-lodge treks
The Treks
This trek, “Classic Community ecolodge treks” of Annapurna Dhaulagiri Community Ecolodge Treks (ADCELT) starts from Galeshwor to Nangi and all the way to Histan (Tikot) and Khopra ridge. The normal day on this trek, begins in the early morning after the first meal of the day (breakfast), so that you could see the best view of the area and the mountains. Usually the walking or trekking ends in the afternoon, mostly well before the darkness, to be in the lodge comfortably though some time, it could take longer. Lunch will be provided (pack or hot) in the middle of the day and then dinner in the evening. The food provided are mostly organic local food such as rice, wheat, buckwheat, corn and millet food, locally grown vegetables and mushrooms and noodles, in a tasty and wholesome cuisine. Eggs will be also used often but meat will be used few times only, subject to availability as most villages use the meat especially in the special occasions and festivals only.
The walking between the villages will be all in your own pace, so that you can enjoy the day and get most of your trek to know and experience. There will be always somebody with the people who walk behind and in the front, so that nobody will be there without any of our staffs, that comes from the villages in most.

Most people will enjoy this trek as it has all the components such as great mountain views, village life cultural experience, natural environment, friendly people, real trekking or walking experience. The organic farms, the orange juice factory, the school for higher secondary levels, community forest, all managed by the communities only.
Level of grade – Introductory to Moderate Adventure
The highest point of overnight on, Classic Community Eco-lodge treks is 3,650m but the optional excursion trip goes up to 4600m. This involves walking for about 5-6 hours in average, with some exception of longer and even shorter days. It depends on the level of fitness and determination, but trekking is usually moderately easy, though can be quite strenuous at some points. Anybody with some reasonable level of physical and mental fitness can enjoy this walk. This trek is suitable for anybody who wishes to explore the village’s life, see the nature and magnificent mountains in Nepal.
Season/time to go on this trek
This trek can be done through out the year. However if you are looking for settled weather and clear mountain views, its the autumn and winter and spring to summer before the monsoon starts. It can be cold especially at the highest point whenever you go. During the later summer, the wet season lasts till September, when the lush green surroundings and mountain flowers along the trail contrast with the mountains, making this a breath-taking time to come. The rain sometimes can make it little uncomfortable, but it is possible to enjoy the trek during this time too.
Food and drink
The food provided along the trail is simple Nepali food that mostly comes only from this area. The vegetables and other food stuffs are organically grown locally. The main meal is called Dal Bhat that consists of rice, lentil soup, vegetables (curried and plain), local salads, pickles and chicken or mutton, sometimes with buffalo meat. Canned foods are also almost non-existence or are used very occasionally. Roti or bread made of wheat, barley and millet; noodles; and a mix of some Nepali and western food support the main meals. Overall the meals provided are healthy and wholesome, hygienically prepared and served by trained cooks and staff.
For drinking water we strongly advise you to bring one or two litre water bottles to refill with boiled and treated water, as plastic mineral water bottles are discouraged for environmental reasons. The water bottle can be filled at the lodges whenever you need or at the lunch stops.
