Everest Base Camp

The ultimate adventure trek
16 day trip
12 day trek
TripCode: ANC011

The Everest base camp is an ultimate adventure trek of the world. Home to the famous Sherpas, the Khumbu area possesses the most extraordinary high mountain scenery on this planet. This trek takes you through the Sherpa ‘capital’ of Namche Bazaar and to Thyangboche monastery, where the Mani Rimdu festival is held every year in October-November, in the heart of the great cultural centre for the people of Solukhumbu. Further along the trail, the walk up to Kalapathar for a close-up view of Everest is  extremely rewarding experience. Base Camp itself does not provide much in the way of views, but it is impressive to walk beside the Khumbu ice falls and glacier.

Trip highs

• One of the best adventure treks in the world
• Highest mountain on earth – Everest (8,848m)
• Spectacular glacier and moraines
• Highland Sherpa culture
• Rhododendrons and other rare Himalayan flowers
• Yaks and yetis!

The Trek – Everest Base Camp
The Everest base camp trek is one of the most popular and best selling treks in Nepal due to the Everest, being the highest mountain in the world. It’s a life time experience to go on this trek!

The flight from Lukla usually depends on the weather and there is some chances of delay. Half and hour flight to Lukla and trek begins after getting the porter organised by your guide. You can recharge yourself with warm tea and even take the breakfast if you make the flight in time.

The next day your trek usually starts at 8am and arrive in the overnight place by midday or later in the afternoon. One the day of excursion and going over the pass it will be different. Going over the pass and climbing to the scenic hills will be usually very early. You will be prepared with your head torch and other required stuffs.

Level of grade
This trek is considered high altitude trek as it goes over 5000m and the altitude and the walking terrain easily qualify this trek to be categorised as hard or strenuous trek, that involves walking for about 5-9 hours at some point. It is recommended that you do some workout, well before this trek and fully understand the trek and its logistics, though any people with a positive frame of mind, who takes is gradually can enjoy this trek well.

Safety/Acclimatization
Everything we do have some code of conduct, that we care or not. Understanding the nature of time, situation and place will always be beneficial in some way. Safety is our foremost priorities. Our staffs will truly look into the logistic and assess the situation to make sure that you are very safe and enjoy the trip.

Altitude problem or AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) can be life threatening if you ignore it. The altitude can be felt going over 4000m for most of people but some people might feel at lower elevation too. Our trip itinerary has been designed in a way that allows you to have more time to help acclimatizes in high altitude. Our guides are experienced to act according to the gravity of the mountain sickness people might fall victim. But remember that the best medicine for the AMS is to go down, though whatever drugs we use will be just helpful to buy time only. So never ignore the symptoms and please talk to your guide or tour leader in that situation. There is always way out this way!

Kunde and Pheriche also has good hospital in case of any emergency

Food, water and accommodation
Many different types of food are available in the lodge you will be staying as there are comfortable lodges and Inns along the trail. The food, though local is the best you can get. The water can be bought along the trail and filled if you have your own water bottle but that needs to be treated well before use. Therefore please do not forget to bring water treating tablets with you.

Season/time
This trek can be done any time of the year and in fact if you are looking for little quieter time, months of June and September are just great, though only thing is the flight that might not be able to fly some time due to the rainy weather. Otherwise this is a great trek this time too as the temperature is mild too and lots of flowers in bloom as flowers in the higher comes latter here.

Months of Oct- Nov and March to April are the months with settled weather, that makes is pleasant is one of the reason, a high season when there are lots of tourist trekking up there, which can make it sometime very difficult to find the place to stay.

So it’s entirely up to one to choose the time and season for this trek.
