Ghandruk-Ghorepani Circuit

Trekking
The Annapurna are located in central-western area of Nepal. Famous mountains include the Annapurna, Machhapuchhare (Fish Tail), Hiunchuli and many more.

Trekking days are normally about 5-6 hours long with a visit to Poon Hill ( 3200m). You begin trekking after a hearty breakfast, stop for lunch in the middle of the day and arrive at the lodge in the afternoon.

Why trek to Poon Hill?
Poon Hill offers stunning views of the Annapurna mountain ranges and provides a great opportunity not only to enjoy the magnificent scenery, but to glimpse the fascinating and rich culture of the local Gurung villages along the way. This trek is not particularly difficult and would appeal to anyone with a basic level of fitness.

Level of grade – Introductory Moderate Adventure
It depends on the level of fitness and determination, but trekking is usually fairly easy, though can be quite strenuous at some points. Anybody with some reasonable level of physical and mental fitness can enjoy this walk. This trek is suitable for anybody who wishes to explore the village life, see the nature and magnificent mountains in Nepal.

Food and accommodation
Lodges along the way provide good accommodation and offer a good choice of well-prepared meals. Whilst bedding is available, it is advisable to bring your own sleeping bag, as especially during the height of season, bedding can be in short supply.

Safety
Safety is our foremost priority. Our staff is constantly alert to assessing the situation to make sure that you are safe and enjoy the trip.

Best time to trek
This entirely depends on what you are looking for! Nepal is pleasant throughout the year in different ways. Spring and summer are great months (March and April, May) with lots of flowers in bloom, especially rhododendrons in the mountain and hills that look wonderful, even though the sky might not be as crystal clear as during the autumn months. This is the second busiest season to visit mountain for trekking and mountaineering.

June, July and August are wet but the mountains and hills are covered with lush, verdant forest and vegetation. Though this season might be not so good for the mountain views, it is an ideal time for studying and exploring the variety of plants. Very few people travel during this season, so it is a perfect time for anyone who has an interest in exploring the quieter paths, when nature is at its best.

October and November are the best months in terms of settled weather and crystal clear skies which enables clear views of the mountains. This means however, that the popular trails are almost saturated with the trekkers, which sometimes creates a problem to find a place to stay and eat, especially if one is traveling in a small group.

The winter months of December to February are also good for this trek, provided one is ready to put up with cold weather and snowfall. The mountain views are good and less people trek during this time.
