Responsible Travel
Social and Corporate Responsibilities
Nepal, being a multi-cultural nation, has a very unique way of life and values, which should be respected and conserved. We comprehend that our activities should benefit the society in some way or the other and hence we at Nature-treks.com/ Himalaya are committed to follow the cultural and traditional norms that exists in the areas that we visit and also support them economically, in our own small ways. We support the following villages by promoting tourism in these areas and offer whatever little economic benefit we can provide from our part.
Dansin Village
Dansin village is a Magar village located in Syangja district, west of Pokhara valley in Nepal. Magar communities are blessed with their very own distinct cultural and traditional values. Spending a couple of days with them by staying in their homes, as a family member, will profoundly provide the unique experience of home stay. Meeting and chatting with the growing children and walking in and around the village is surely an enchanting experience.
Our effort is to economically support them by providing them most of the fund that is collected so that it can be used to improve the health and education sector of this village.
Nagi Village
Nagi village is also called a remote internet village! Located in the shadows of the mighty Dhaulagiri Himalaya, this village is also known as Mahabir Poon’s village. Mahabir is a teacher who worked hard to make this remote village renowned as a wireless internet model village. He is still continuing his sincere efforts to make this village self sufficient and is very grateful for every help he gets from the outside.
On our part, we sincerely support them by promoting this village and this has assisted in economically benefiting them to meet their objective.
Orphanage
Due to poverty and insurgency, many destitute children are in urgent need of support. We are not a big financial or physicalsupporter but we are very committed to offer our support.
Environmental Responsibilities
In this ever-changing world, it’s not easy for Nepal to maintain and keep the natural environment intact in order to support the demand of the ever growing population. This is inevitable but the worse thing is that the environment is degrading at a swift pace due to lack of proper education and awareness efforts.
We, at NTH, understand and are committed in the environmental conservation efforts. Hence, we educate and train our staffs to follow the norms and value of environment strictly and inform them that they should try not to spoil the environment in the areas that we visit. We try our best to keep the place as intact as we found it and even make it cleaner than before. The non-bio-degradable wastes are brought back and disposed off in proper places. Floras and faunas are left undisturbed.
We advice our clients not litter or pick any rare plants or flowers along the trail. We also request you to cooperate with us in our efforts to teach the staffs the importance of conserving the fragile nature.
Conservation effort
It is important to explore the nature, its vastness and its beauty but it is equally important to promote the nature, educate and raise awareness regarding its inseparable relation with any living and non-living things. We, at NTH, are truly committed and dedicated to support the programs undertaken by various conservation organizations such as: Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN), Nepal River Conservation Trust (NRCT) and Friendsofbird (FoB), to conserve, educate and raise awareness about the nature and the environment.
We are a member of these organizations and are always willing to support them in whatever way we can. At the same time, we also appeal to our clients to support them, in your own ways so that together we can make a difference.
Carbon offsetting
The global warming and climate change being the result of continuous change in nature which is very slow natural process but human activity is causing it to accelerate in a very alarming pace, impacting the environment and natural biodiversity negatively. This is threatening the biodiversity to disappear from this planet for forever. Therefore it’s our profound responsible to act and behave sensibly. Here are few things we can consider to slow down the climate change to give chance for everyone.
