This trek, “Taste of Annapurna Community Eco-treks”, is the short journey that makes a perfect small circuit through the pure communities and natural areas, and is suitable for anyone including for family. The trek takes you through the orange farm, beautiful villages and the stunning viewpoint of 3300m with the pristine rhododendron forest. You experience the real local culture, wilderness and nature at its best, in a peaceful and intact environment, surrounded by mountains that Nepal is famous for.

Trip Basics

Why choose this trek!
The “Taste of Community Eco-Trails” is a great short trek suitable for all kinds of outdoor lovers even for the family adventure. The trail stays on off the beaten track, in a different area, even so, close to the mountains and people. This is an also a trek with great purpose! Trekkers will enjoy more, as this is community-based tourism with genuine eco-sense and offers all the components such as great mountain views, real village life cultural experience, natural environment, friendly people, real trekking or walking experience. The added highlight is, all the lodges are fully managed by the communities themselves that is creating the opportunities for works and their capacity building. This directly provides the economic benefit for the whole communities. They are also involved community organic farms (the orange juice factory), a school for higher secondary levels, community forest and many other activities collectively.

Season/time to go on this trek
This trek can be done throughout the year. For settled weather and clear mountain views – autumn to winter and spring to summer before the monsoon starts.

Food and drink
Simple Nepali and Nepali type food that mostly comes only from this area, that mainly of vegetables and other foodstuffs are organically grown locally. Overall the meals provided are healthy and wholesome, hygienically prepared and served by trained cooks and staffs.

For drinking water, we strongly advise you to bring one or two-liter water bottles to refill with boiled and treated water, as plastic mineral water bottles are discouraged for environmental reasons. The water bottle can be filled at the lodges whenever you need or at the lunch stops.

For accommodation home-stay in two places and rest community lodges.

The lodges and community houses all belong to local people. The majority of the money that comes from you, is given to the communities, with the rest covering only the expenses of professional guides and other costs like transport with a little service charge.
