The Underrated Base Camp Trail

“The Five Treasures of Snows”

In simple words, the underrated base camp is known to be the Kanchenjunga Base Camp. This base camp isn’t as hyped as the Annapurna and Everest. Tourist visiting in this area is very less compared with the other base camps as well.

Kanchenjunga (8,586m) is the third highest mountain in the world, making Nepal the honorable home of the first and third highest mountains of the world. This base camp is at an elevation of 3700m. This trail is on off the beaten tract and comparatively unexplored area that is very rich in biodiversity.  The routes are dramatically beautiful with exceptional scenic views that one could never imagine. Kanchenjunga is also known for the majestic rhododendron forest that lies beneath the mountains. The forest consists of colorful rhododendron flowers with other breathtaking Himalayan flowers. Rhododendron is our, national flower, that we Nepalese cherish it with our heart. This is an unique area that has the most species of Rhododendrons found in Nepal. This trail also offers wildlife sightings where many Himalayan animals live peacefully. One of the majestic creature is Snow Leopard up here. The area also rich in numerous species of beautiful birds.

The best time to trek here will be Mid-April through May where the flowers will be blooming alluringly.

However, it also depends on multitude factors such as altitudes, climate and etc.  But best assure that this base camp adventure will definitely be your favorite of all.
