Champa Devi Hike
Good whole day hike for adventure and cultural experience!
Trip Code: NTH02
Located to the south of Kathmandu, Champa Devi Hill is one of the best hiking hills in the valley rim. After a short drive to Pharping, you start hiking up, through the thin pine forest and then along the ridge that offers panoramic mountain view, with a bird’s eye view of the Kathmandu Valley. The raptors can be seen soaring below the trails. The summit is enshrined with a sacred shrine. From the summit, the trail descends steeply down through the dense forest, rich in bird’s and wildlife to return drive back to Kathmandu through the historic town of Kirtipur and university area, though this trail option is best natural but can be very tough due to the steepness, specially when its raining. Other option would be just retrace back to the same point and drive back to Kathmandu.
Here’s some facts, WHY. we highly recommend this hike:
- You will see the longest panoramic Himalayan view, that includes the mountains such as Annapurna in the west to Gaurishankar in the east with Langtang, Ganesh and Jugal range.
- Bird’s eye views of whole Kathmandu valley
- Scenic ridge and lively forest with Birds and other wildlife life
- Really great walking experience.
