Led / guided by an experienced in wildlife and birder!
This tour explores two finest national parks of Nepal, in the lowlands, that offers the great experiencing of wildlife watching in their natural habitat. The two national parks visited maximizes your chances of wildlife sighting. In Nepal, animal viewing can be challenging, but there’s nothing like the satisfaction of seeing them in their natural habitat.
Nepal, in spite of being a very small country, is extremely rich in its biodiversity. The biggest land mammal, Wild Elephant is quite common at the certain time of the year. The Great one-horned Rhinoceros is always there to inspire you, most of them in Chitwan. And the magnificent big cat Royal Bengal Tiger is always awe and magical even if you catch the glimpse. Other major wildlife area Lesser/Common Leopard, the largest form of cattle- Gaur (Bison here), Blue Bull, Asiatic Sloth Bear, numerous species of antelopes such Samber, Spotted Deer, Hog Deer, and Muntjac, Black Buck, Swamp Deer, Four-horned Antelope, are some main large mammals inhabiting the park. Other wildlife includes crocodiles, Gangetic fresh water dolphin and many species of other reptiles. Nepal also boasts some 9% of bird’s life and well known for many 35 species of globally-threatened species (www.birdlifenepal.org) along with many rare and endangered species with one endemic species- Spiny Babbler.
This trip combines the visit to Lumbini in between for a little cultural slice, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. This place is worth not missing. The journey further explores some least visited area also cutting down the long drive at once. Sarus Crane are also the main attraction here among other many species of farmland and wetland species in nearby Jagdishpur lake.

What to expect and not to expect!
Remember your tour is into the natural areas, not in captivity and hence sighting of major wildlife, depends entirely on their movement and the chance. Sometimes you will be lucky to be able to sight almost all major animals from the park but some time may be very few major animals or could be nothing at some point. However, taking a walk, with or without elephant or boat/canoe trip, into nature is never disappointing. There is always an opportunity to come across many beautiful birds and animals signs, which is equally rewarding experience being in nature.
Level of grade: Leisurely easy trip
Best time/season
Best wildlife viewing season is winter and spring (Dec, Jan, Feb and March), however, other months such as Sept, Oct and June and July, also can be used.
Making a difference!
Nature conservation and awareness are becoming inevitable day by day to protect and sustain it. Therefore, this tour highlights the nature conservation and awareness effort to know and support our natural heritage. By visiting the park or protected areas, we not only benefit ourselves in knowing a lot about nature but also will support the effort taken by the Nepal to carry out the objectives beneficial for all party in some way.
