FAM trip for outdoor experience tour from 5th to 7th February, 2020/Akhima Thapa, Nature-treks.com Himalaya

Our outdoor training for sales staffs got organized for 5th to 7th February, 3 days and 2 nights of learning and fun experience. We were all very excited and flew to Pokhara in the morning which got delayed for 2 hours but that did not stop our excitement at all! We then reached our destination, Pokhara! It was a beautiful and sunny day to start our training trip. We had lunch and a small meeting with our senior Rafting-nature guide and started with a very short boating in the Phewa Lake which was very soothing and a small hike to World Peace Pagoda (Stupa). Along the hiking stairs, we got to learn about the surrounding and plants. We reached to the Stupa that was standing tall and proud, showing off its elegance of white and neat color and some golden decorated statues of Lord Buddha. After that we hiked down and went on a sightseeing spree. We first went to see the Gupteswor Mahadev cave which is a major attraction since it’s a nature made cave and no one knows how it was formed. There have been some changes made by the human world but still keeping its natural state. Then to our next stop – Devi’s fall which is a place dedicated to a woman who drowned and died, this is also one of the most visited tourist attraction. And last but not the least, the International Mountain Museum which is also a famous and great place to visit. This Museum shows amazing details of our Mountains and hills. This place also shows short documents where we get to learn so much more. It’s a great place to gain knowledge about Nepal’s history, culture and nature.

On to our second day – the most exciting day as it was an adventure day! We went to Sarangkot early morning to see the beautiful sunrise then followed the exciting zip line. It is a 90 second fall. Each second worth it fall. The wind just blows in your face at first but the more down it goes the air keeps brushing in your face which makes it easier to check the magnificent views from that posture. After that one of our staff did a bungee fall which was very exciting to watch for me, haha. Then we did rafting in Upper Seti, one among the difficult rivers of Nepal. It was a Rocky River adventure with ups and down and mostly getting stuck but one of a lifetime one. Since I have water phobia it was a good experience for me. Getting it out of the system was nice however I will still battle with it. After all the adventure we came to the camping site and built our tents. Later in the evening got to hear great ghost stories that were scary but we all slept like a rock due to the adventurous and learning day we had.

Now on to our third and final day – hiking day. Woke up early again for our hiking to Australian base Camp. We drove to Kade and started hiking. As usual, more stairs! We hiked up and up and also taking in the fresh air and knowing about our magnificent mountains that stood proudly and clear. It was again a beautiful day with clear skies. After few hours of hike we got to our destination where it took our breath away – literally. The views were spectacular, the close ups of mountains like never before. We got to encounter the beauty of Machhapuchhare (Fishtail , Annapurna I and II. All of us were amazed with the mountains and its landscapes, we couldn’t stop staring at them. It was indeed a beautiful day.

We hiked down and had our last lunch together for the trip and ended with it.

To conclude it was definitely a great experience dear to my heart. We got to learn and see so much about our country, our homeland that we are so proud of. We would love to share this with our future clients and in workplace or wherever we go. Thank you to Nature-treks, Ultimate Descents and Borderlands for providing us with such a great opportunity of a lifetime.
