The Gokyo valley trek is an alpine trek that, explores the heart of the Sherpa, Namche Bazaar before ascending to this beautiful valley of stunning glacial lake – Gokyo, located below the scenic Gokyo Ri peak with the largest glacier and moraine on the north-eastern side. Hike to Gokyo Ri offers a great view of glacier on the backdrop of mount Cho Oyu (8153 m), Gyachungkang and Mount Everest. Visiting to the 5th lake is another nice walk from the Gokyo. This area is also in less crowded area as compared to Everest base camp.

Arrive Kathmandu
Meet in TIA, Kathmandu airport and transfer to you hotel

Day in Kathmandu for half day heritage sightseeing and planning the  trip

To Lukla
Fly to Lukla (35 minutes) from Kathmandu or Ramechhap, meet the porter/s and start the trek. Overnight lodge

To Namche Bazar
Continue trek through Monjo and national park entrance, cross few adventurous suspense bridges and arrive Namche Bazar, overnight lodge (BLD)

Day in Namche Bazar is spent for the acclimatisation of altitude. There are many optional hikes and visits around Namche, among which the nearest one is the visit to the museum and enjoy the views of Everest

To Dole
After good rest and acclimatisation day, you start your trek to arrive at Dole. overnight lodge

To Macchermo
Continue trek and overnight lodge at Machhermo

To Gokyo Lake
Trek to Gokyo after passing small lakes and moraine, overnight lodge

Day in Gokyo
Visit Gokyo Ri (5360m) for the amazing views of the lake, glaciers and highest mountain Everest itself with many other Himalayan giants. Return to lodge and rest or visit the fifth lake during the day time

To Dole
Return to Dole, overnight lodge

To Thyangboche
Instead of taking the trail back to Namche, you trek to Thyangboche, one of the main cultural centre of Sherpas and great place to be via Phortse, overnight lodge

To Monjo
Trek to Namche Bazar and continue trek and drop down to Monjo, pass national park office, overnight lodge (BLD)

To Lukla
Return trek to Lukla and overnight lodge and enjoy the accomplishment of your great trek, you just has done, overnight lodge (BLD)

To Kathmandu
Return flight to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel

Day in Kathmandu
Day of leisure in Kathmandu with exploring the streets of Kathmandu and tours around, overnight hotel

Flight back home
Flight back home or join another tour with us in Kathmandu. You may consider doing another trek or take white water rafting or kayaking adventure or go Chitwan national park for nature safari or relaxation Please NOTE that above trip can be customised and can be booked any time...

Gokyo Everest Trip COST US$ 1980/person Minimum: 2 persons, maximum 12 persons
