TripCode: ADECO01
11-day trip with 5 night 6 day Introductory to moderate trek

This is an ethical and sustainable approach, on the pure community based journey, first of its kind in the country, that was initiated in 2010 officially by Nature Treks with the community of Myagdi. The trail makes a perfect short circuit through the communities, natural areas with spectacular mountain views and scenic landscapes. It is suitable for anyone, including for family. The orange farm, community forest and sustainable community works, beautiful villages and the stunning viewpoint, wilderness, and nature at its best, in a peaceful and intact environment. At the same time, the real people and local culture are other added values of this journey!

Trip Highs

One and only Community-based tourism model in the country, truly managed by the communities under local school management, an ethical trekking journey with spectacular (best) views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain range and natural forest rich in biodiversity (birds and wildlife)

The Trek

This short trek makes a perfect circuit through the beautiful villages, farmland, pristine forest and the stunning viewpoint. Experience the real local culture, wilderness, and nature at its best, in a peaceful and intact environment. The trek usually starts in the early morning after the breakfast with lunch break in the midday and overnights at the designated community areas. The average walking duration is 5-6 hours, with some days shorter or even longer. The duration varies and depends on the individual and weather entirely.

This trekking trail is categorized as Introductory to Moderate Adventure, with the highest point being 3300 m at Mohare Hill

Why choose this trek!
This trek, “Annapurna Dhaulagiri Mini Eco-trail”  is a great short trek suitable for all kinds of trekkers and for the family adventure. The trail stays on off the beaten track, in a different area, in spite of being very close to the popular trail. The most important thing is, it’s close to the mountains and people. This is also a trek with great purpose, making it an ethical approach! Trekkers will enjoy more, as this is pure community-based tourism with genuine eco-sense at the same time offering all the components such as great mountain views, real village life cultural experience, natural environment, friendly people, real walking experience. In addition, all the lodges are fully managed by the communities themselves, that is creating the opportunities for jobs and their capacity building. This directly provides the economic benefit for the whole communities. They are also involved in community organic farms (the orange juice factory), a school for higher secondary levels, community forest and many other activities collectively.

Season/time to go on this trek
This trek can be done throughout the year. Though, for settled weather and clear mountain views – September to May are the best!

Food and drink
Simple Nepali type food that mostly comes only from this area, that mainly consists of vegetables, rice, wheat/corn/buckwheat products. The vegetables are also organically grown locally.

For drinking water, we strongly advise you to bring two-timer water bottles (Nalgene) to refill with boiled or treated water, as plastic mineral water bottles are discouraged for environmental reasons. The water bottle can be filled at the lodges whenever you need.

Accommodations
For accommodation, community homestay and community lodges are used, that have simple and clean bed
